Ikat textiles are among the most highly prized fabrics in the world. They are renowenedfor their brillian colours and comples patterns and design. We produce a rich variety of traditional andcontemprary ikat patterns corresponding to the socio-culture of each community. Ikat textile's are mainly produced in the form of:
-saree
-dupattas (veils or long scarfs)
-lungis (cloth worn by men) and yardage is also being produced.
Technique:
Ikat or yarn resist dyeing is a type of weaving where the warp, weft or both are tie-dyed before weaving to create designs on the finished fabric. There are 3 ikat categories:
1.Single Ikat - tyeing and dyeing of either warp or weft.
2.Combined Ikat - both warp and weft ikat coexist in different part of the fabric.
3.Double Ikat- both warp and weft threads are dyed in such a manner, that whenwoven, form a predetermined pattern.
